I don't believe Mike is correct when he says all the SPGs came with automatic. On the contrary, I've always thought the most desireable ones came with 5-speed manual trans. The SPG is regarded as more of a performance car -- has more horsepower than the regular turbo. If I were considering an '88, I would certainly want it checked out by a qualified Saab technician. Well worth the $40 or $50 you'll spend to know what the car needs before you become the proud owner. Michael
