I also experienced the same problem, I even checked to make sure that my WHALER sensor on the upper left side of the radiator was closing at the right temperature. After checking everything else, I replaced the switch with one lower rated one ( also used on VW's $10.00). My car now hols a good temperature no matter how long I sit in trafic. Good Luck...joe A.E.
