Subject: Re: Help with Cruise Control

I have a 87 900 S, and I recently fixed my cruise control. The main thing is the vaccuum tubing dry rotting and leaking where it attaches to the vaccuum pump as it is a harsh enviorment in the engine. The vaccuum tube goes from the cluth and/or brake and than under the carpet and exits where the handle to pump the hood is. It than goes under the fuse box, and down the tire well to a vaccuum pump. It may of fallen of the nipple. Either cut of an inch and reattach as the first inch is normally where the leak is. Or you could replace the entire tubbing, but this is not normally neccesary. You can suck on this hose. If it holds a vaccuum chances are everything else is okay. You may have to reach under the pedals and adjust the dump switches for the brake/clutch which disable the clutch when you press the pedal. You can adjust the plunger by problay screwing so the length of the plunger shortens as it goes into the part you screw upward. Also, look in the back of the speedo by looking through the speaker panel. There should be two or three sets of prongs, and one plug which slides on a set of prongs. You may want to switch the plug onto a different set of prongs. This also happened to fix my stuck odometer. Well, if that doesn't fix it, you may want to look up ywan mason's website. "Saabmaster" very good site, and helpful people. Hope this helps Jeff
