It is definately not uncommon, so it certainly could be the problem. But it is the water pump only if you are actually leaking water somewhere out of it. The best way to check is to put a big piece of clean cardboard or butcher-paper under your car, start it and let it run for a while or better yet after you come home from the store or such and it has been driven a while. Then see if after 5 minutes or so if you see water droplets on the cardboard or not. This will tell you if you have a leak and where it is leaking. Another think to look for is your exhaust. If you get a lot of white "smoke" then this could be an indication that you have a blown head gasket and are getting coolant into the cylinders. This certainly would cause your collant to go down over time. Patrick Timlin http://www.geocities.com/CapeCanaveral/4742/ ptimlinnopsamities.com
