While driving from Ohio to Colorado for a vacation in June of 1996, a severe electrical problem developed in my 1996 SAAB 900SE. We left the car with a dealer in Lincoln' Nebraska to be fixed. SAAB USA paid for a full-size rental car until the car was repaired. It was not a SAAB, but a 96 Dodge Intrepid, which I found to be a satisfactory car. The fix required the replacement of the entire huge wire loom that services the whole car interior. It had to be manufactured in Sweden and did not arrive until the end of July. SAAB paid for the continuing rental until my SAAB was returned to me. I still had to make lease payments on the SAAB in the meantime. I'm not exactly praising SAAB in this situation, but they did provide a nearly new car for the duration.
