Send me your address and I'll copy the vacuum and fuel injection hose routing pictures for you (I don;t think they will fax well, because of the color background of the pages). It seems to me that 86-87-88 were "experimental" years for Saab in getting the 9000's to idle and run smoothly. There may be year-to-year differences in where the hoses went from and to. On my 87 there were some unused hose connectors near the throttle, which I had to plug up with little rubber caps to cure a problem similar to yours. Good luck. Alan.
