Subject: 9000 Molding Panels, cleaning?

We purchased a '95 9000 CS from someone who lived in the country and drove a few dirt roads. They also live in an area that doesn't use salt in the winter, rather sand. I'm happy the car saw less salt, but the sand went in to all types of things. Namely, under the molded, side (poly) panels that are on the bottom of the doors and fenders. Imagine washing this mint black car, and then seeing streams of sand running down from under the molding. I've tried spraying directly in behind the molding, but I cannot get the last bit out. I was wondering - is there a trick (or tool) to allow you to "pop" these side moldings off? Without damaging the molding or the paint surface. I don't want to screw anything up, or have to get new molding if I don't have to. Seems to me, there's probably a push forward, pull out procedure. Or, should I just break down and bring it to the local Saab body shop ($!)? Thanks
