Subject: New Car Questions

Last month I bought a (new to me) 95 Saab 900SE convertible and I'm loving it. I remember the thread about whether Saabs were good desert cars or not, and here in Texas it's been over 100 degrees (F) almost every day since I bought the car. This has limited me putting the top down to early in the morning or after the sun goes down, but it hasn't limited how much fun the car is to drive. I do have a few minor question I haven't seen answerer on this newsgroup or on SaabNet and was hoping someone might be able to help: 1) Any way to turn off the "shift up" light? I've already pulled the fuse on the Daytime Running Lights (so I won't annoy my neighbor). 2) I can't seem to get the fog lights to come on. I've check the fuse and bulbs. Any ideas? 3) I've set the sound so that it's supposed to get louder or quieter depending on the speed of the car, but I don't notice any difference in volume. Perhaps the volume is too high for there to be a difference. Any ideas how this works? 4) Sometimes, especially when it's hot, I get bad performance (a sort of skipping sound) from the CD that's selected when I turn the car on. This is resolved by cycling through all the CDs and selecting the disc number that is playing. I have the factory default CD changer in the trunk. Has anyone else experienced this? 5) Finally, the side vents blow strong, cold air but the middle vent barely blows at all. This is very important for those 105 degree days. Is this common with 900s, or the 1995 version? Thanks in advance for any help. MCrider
