i'm neither a musical expert, or an engineer...simply someone why enjoys clean, distortion-free music. much of your problems with the front speaker's lack of bass has to do with the modest size of the drivers and the lack of enclosure. boston acoustic component 4'' speakers are a dramatic clarity improvement for the front, and with a flush mount for the tweeter, they look good too. unfortunately, the won't do much to punch of the bass. fortunately, since bass is omnidirectional, you can get what you need from modifications elsewhere. in the rear, i would suggest a combination of larger component speakers with one 10'' subwoofer. I have always liked MB Quart & McIntosh, personally. get yourself a nice 5 channel amp to drive everything and you're set. david
