Matt, Check your throttle plate assembly and vaccum hoses. A dirty throttle plate can cause idle fluctuation, and so can bad vaccum hoses. I have an 87 9000S. It is my third Saab. My previous two were and 83 900T for over 13 years and an 87 900S for over two years. I always used Castrol 10W/30 in the engines and transmissions. All were 5 spds. I also used an additive Militec-1. I have used it for 4 years because the stuff works. My 83 900T had over 251,000 miles before it was wrecked by a truck. Use one the web search engines and search on Militec-1. There is a ton of information, as well as two distributors you can order from on the web. Ken Washington 87 9000S Upper Marlboro, MD
