It's the only automatic I've ever owned in 40 years of driving and I got it because of all the stop and go driving on the local freeways, otherwise I probably would have stayed with a 5 speed. Gas mileage isn't too good but it sure has a lot of power and good acceleration for an automatic (although my wife's Altima may be faster)......Check and see if the AC may eventually have to be rebuilt to conform to new standards (I had to when mine developed problems). Check for any slippage in the transmission if you go automatic. A lot of us are having intermittent starting problems in hot weather, no solution in sight yet. It's a fine car but repairs seem to be rather frequent and expensive. Good luck.
