Have a 1987 900 T, 160,000 miles. Yesterday morning started smoking (?) upon startup. White/gray smoke (steam ? ), worse as it warms up. Plugs are clean, great compression each cylinder, engine oil clear, antifreeze not bubbling, engine runs smooth, have turbo boost as usual. Local dealer wants $900 (by phone diagnosis) for turbo replacement. How can I tell if that's the problem? I can replace it myself for much less (including oil supply line) but not sure that is what I need. Any suggestions appreciated!! thanks
