You got it for a good price I may say. You can take the old fuel sender appart and check it out by yourself, if you have a ohm meter you can check it for resistance (I think 75 and 0 ohms depending on full or empty) The sender has electric contacts that might of corroded and need cleaning. Go ahead pull the sender out and open it to see if anything ovbious is the problem, you can get an used one for $50.00 but try it on your car before paying for it. The car does run hot but I installed a lower temp thermostat, new water pump and helped it to cool better. I also flushed the coolant system and removed the radiator to fully clean all the grime from the outside and inside. Yes seems that you need new temp switch check at your local pep Boys for the basic parts they usually carry most of all you ever need, the dealer usually is pretty much expensive on everything like the parts are gold coated or something. The best thing I do is to find a local junk yard and become good frineds with them because you'll come back a lot for nickle and dime parts and tell them to let you know when they get Saabs in. No coolant leak, that is good.
