Had same in 89 900S. It's broken for good. There's a plastic geared tape that runs past a geartoothed wheel that raises and retracts the antenna. The plastic tape is probably broken. Take it apart and check. You can replace it with a Radio Shack power antenna (at least on my car it was the same size). Or you can oreder through Saab. Ever notice how many Saab's have short little whip antennas or the antenna is just stuck open? John Gardner
