Subject: 9000 Turbo '87 smooth running - distributor fault?

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_01BDDDFD.89CFC000 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit The above car has a fault - can anyone help? At start up she's smooth as silk for 5-10 minutes. Once the car's been running for longer than that then on acceleration, particularly when the engines under load and at lowish revs 1000-2750 the car can judder and splutter. The vehicle has a Bosch distributor and Hall effect ignition system. The vaccum advance retard is working. However like most Bosch distributors I've had in the past there is an oil leak - this one's internal. Are there sprung weights inside these distributors - because I'm thinking that a spray of oil could be making the whole advance/retard process sticky - hence the juddering - when the car's cooled down and the oil drained off this may account for the smoothness at start (after a night's standing). If there are alternatives I should check -please let me know - no fault codes are registering on the ecu display. iwan.daviesnopsami.com ------=_NextPart_000_01BDDDFD.89CFC000 Content-Type: text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable

<BODY bgcolor=3D"#FFFFFF">
<font size=3D2 = color=3D"#000000" face=3D"Arial">The above car has a fault - can anyone = help?

At start up she's smooth as silk for 5-10 minutes.
