I am in a similar situation. I have a 96 900 SE and am looking for a second car since I just got married. Right now I have narrowed it down to the 323, 9-3 and 9-5. If you are looking at the 3 series, look hard at the 323. The $7000 price difference between it and the 328 isn't worth it in my opinion. My only complaint about the Saab's is the wood paneling they have forced on all the cars. Everything else is pretty similar, it just depends on your tastes.
