My 86 900T 8v makes a horrible graunchy noise when I start the engine, about 5 times out of 10.. I have traced it to the vacuum container for the heater controls just in front of the bulkhead on the drivers side (RHD..). It seems that as the manifold vacuum is applied the valve inside the container vibrates (like letting air out of a balloon past a constriction I guess..). It gets me some funny looks at times.. sounds like the engine is about to die horribly.. any suggestions? -- Hugh Fiske
