The fact that your car has an intercooler is a sure sign that it is the 8-valve engine and the car is correct. The reason for this is that UK spec low-pressure turbo's don't have an intercooler. I saw one the other day in the garage and it had a mitsubishi turbocharger. The tech said that this had needed replacing and mumbled lots of stuff about this particular make being more expensive to get hold of and not as good as the garret. P.S.
