Subject: Re: what kind of engine oil is best for SAAB???

All depends in driving conditions & ambient Temps. The hotter ambient Temp., the thicker oil you need. City driving less thick, HGWY drive thicker. The point here is to maintain oil pressure right. I drive in Florida...it is hot in winter & hotter in summer. 15w-50 or 20w-50 is my choice. 15w City 20w HGWY. If going to winter trip up North...15w-40 20w-40...the cooler the lower. If you live in Alaska you should use 10w-30 even 5w-30. Brands?...It will be a crime if I tell you wich to use...Only "Named Brands"...I don't want to be "finger" by recomending a specific one... They all work well... or at least they say it does...This is your choice. Sintetic or not?...Old cars and even new, were designed to perform with regular... new sintetics oils technology say they work better & cleaner...Is no doubt about it. Is oil important?... Well, there is one sure thing, it is the most importan thing to think when you own a car... the better treatment...the better performance... Scheduled oil changes are a must to prolong the life of any engine. Georg J.
