I think by far the most important thing is to use a water cooled inter-cooler for more than 1 atmosphere of boost. If you want to go crazy you can even plump for a mappable water injection system such as the ERL one fitted to cosworths. Keeping the inlet charge temperature down will probably do more for the reliability of your engine than anything else. P.S.
