I took my 1987 9000 Turbo to the dealer for a "lifetime" warranty replacement of a muffler installed three years ago. No problem and no cost (regular price would have been about $450). Car currently has 143k miles. I also complained of a buzzing noise in the front end, thinking the air dam was loose or a fender liner bolt came out. Dealer diagnosis was "replace all motor mounts" (both upper and lowers, which service manager described as "hydraulic"). Said it's a rough job because motor has to be supported from overhead - price quote for parts and labor was $850. I couldn't find the replacement process described in the factory service manuals. Would appreciate any responses as to whether this is a DIY repair, is dealer price fair, is diagnosis consistent with age of car (seems to be) and are there any repair alternatives in the Philadelphia area? Response greatly appreciated.
