Subject: Re: Saab 9000 turbo stalling problem

Check your turbo bypass (aka 'hooter') valve. It's easy to get at and check on the 9000--it's in the turbo pressure tubing between the turbo and the intake manifold, with two vaccuum lines going out of it, one big, one small. Remove the unit (or else grab a piece of vaccuum line) and suck on it; if it doesn't hold vaccuum, it's bad, and might be the cause of your stalling problems. It's not too expensive to replace at $35-40. Good luck! Paul 93 9000 Aero
