Subject: Breaked brake is getting worse

My 89 TC is not a happy car. I checked for corrosion and faulty grounds in the rear and found nothing. I even removed the trailer wiring harness that was left over from the previous owner. (!) Now things have gotten worse instead of better. When the brakes are applied, every light in the rear lights up-dimly-save for the third brake light which works great. In fact, all of the lights-side, turn, marker-glow dimly when the brake is applied. So, I took out the brake light fuse, and this thing near the top of the radiator started clicking wildly. It was like a relay gone berserk. It has three vacuum hoses of good size connected to it. I have no idea what it is. By plugging the brake light fuse back in, it stopped. I took the front turn signal bulbs out to inspect them and managed to drop one inside of the lens. Idiot. At least I can fix that. What can be wrong? Do I have to replace every piece of wire from front to back? Do I simply need to change the turn signal relay? Where should I begin? Many thanks for help with this major irritating problem. Eff Smith
