First, is this an old, middle or new 900? In the old (pre '87) 900's the injection system (Bosch K-jettronic mechanical) the fuel enrichment valve can stop working and refuse to richen th emixture adequately so th ecar runs poorly untill fully hot. On '87+ 900's the mixture is determined my the temperature (and resultant resistance to electricity) of a fine tungston wire suspended just in fron of the throttle body. More air (molecules); more fuel. If the wire gets dirty it doesnt cool at the prescribed rate and mixture goes wacky. CAREFULLY un plug and remove this "air mass sensor". CAREFULLY remove the protective screens and spray the wire from both sides with Berryman Chemtool carberator cleaner spray. Wallmart. Reassemble. Listen for vacuume leaks with engine Idleing. Look carefully at the little hose that extends from the intale manifold forward and down into the driver side wheel well and attaches to a big black canister. the coupler hose at the canister gets old and splits. Standard auto store fuel line hose replacement. About 3" long. Good luck Woof Gerald Chapman <jerrdudenopsamv.net> wrote in article <22127-361F8827-47nopsamd-141.iap.bryant.webtv.net>... > Does this ring a bell with anyone.
