It was probably the industrial size barrel of K-Y that made it so expensive. Unless they're suggesting that all of your rotors are shot, find another shop. And even if they say the rotors need replacing, I'd be inclined to get a second opinion- if you've never let the pads get down to bare metal, the rotors should be fine.
