Testing the various motors revealed that it was the passenger door motor. I took the unit out of the car and rebuilt the motor. However it only worked the once before failing again i.e. it managed to go up and down. I guess this is quite a common thing since the motor looked pretty badly worn (bushes shot). If you can get hold of one of the little electric motors you could quite easilly rebuild the unit without having to buy a new one. On the flip side you could save your self the hassle and get the whole unit from a scrap yard. I think mine cost me 10 pound. Before you do this don't jump to any conclusions and test the various components of the central looking circuit using a multi-meter. Putting a higher rating fuse in sufficed for me as this allowed me to observe that part of the system continued to work, although I can't remember if it was both the drivers door and boot that worked or just the switch or what. Anyway good luck. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
