Hmm, well, first a few corrections: In 1996 there was no "turbo 6cyl", you either had a turbo 4 or the rather pathetic (in my opinion) V6. The "Aero" that you mention in the title is a VERY VERY specific car, and there are not a huge number of them (I think SAAB only built about 1K/yr, someone else can correct me), and I'm the proud owner of a 1995. It involves a very high pressure turbo (18.2psi), lowered suspension, totally new seats, and a lot of other tweaks/tuneups. It's probably the fastest stock sedan in the world. I've heard a lot of problems with automatics (the REAL Aero was manual only, if you got the auto, you got the CSE engine). IN general automatics cost more in the long run to maintain, because they're more complex, but many people in this country MUST have one. 50K miles isn't too bad, hardly a break in---my 1995 is at 50K now, and in perfect mechanical condition. For what it's worth, my 1995 Aero, purchased in May in the Washington, DC area cost me $24K for a mint condition car with 38K miles. Chris -- | Christopher Petrilli | petrillinopsamr.org
