The question is, "does your engine oil provide adequate lubrication for the type of engine service you demand?" Any SG rated modern oil reduces bearing friction by about 99.99 % when compared with a dry crank case. Any good engine is able to last 200K mi with only casual maintenance. How much $ is that last .01% wear worth to you? Oil additives are a con game. Their sales are based on the supposition that there's something wrong with good engine oil. If you want superior oil just use Mobil 1 or Amsoil it actually has an advantage over petro-oil. Wider viscosity range. You'll prevent more wear at start-up in a month than youll prevent in a year with "miricle" additives. P.S. chech out this monyh Consumer Reports. They THOROUGHLY debunk Prolong engine aditive.
