My recommendation is don't do it! This can be real dangerous and bring you into really tricky situations. The question is not only having good grip on the driving wheels in order to get the car moving, you must be able to brake it also without loosing control of the car. The diffrent rubber compounds make the all sesons very slippy. If you have a FWD car and but the winter tires on the front wheels this will make you feel safe with good grip during acceleration. There is however a great risk that you will lose control of the back end of the car in curves or when braking. matthew.aunopsamyi.com skrev: > Hello all, > > I was wondering what are people experiences and recommendations regarding > putting on just a pair of snow tires on the drive wheel and a pair of all > seasons on the other two wheels.  I was told by several shops that such > combination is deadly due to the different compound in the two differenct > types of tires.  My car is old and I don't want to invest too much more money > for a full set of snow tires. > > Thanks for your comments, > > Matthew > > -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- > http://www.dejanews.com/       Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own   matthew.aunopsamyi.com skrev: > Hello all, > > I was wondering what are people experiences and recommendations regarding > putting on just a pair of snow tires on the drive wheel and a pair of all > seasons on the other two wheels.  I was told by several shops that such > combination is deadly due to the different compound in the two differenct > types of tires.  My car is old and I don't want to invest too much more money > for a full set of snow tires. > > Thanks for your comments, > > Matthew > > -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- > http://www.dejanews.com/       Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
