Subject: Re: 9-3 $$$$$

I am considering an Infinity G20T (about 24K loaded), BWM 323I (33K loaded), or a mint Saab 900SE 1998 16k miles for about 20k. There is also a new 9-3 base model with leather and sunroof for about 29k. I really want the 9-3 Saab SE, though not for 34k. There is another issue, Saab is "slowing down" and I wonder if they will be still in business in 5 years? Saab also has a good reputation for fun, though low scores for upkeep and problems. Saab is different how they do business in the USA and there are fewer dealers to support the product. I also heard Saab has lost money making cars and I would hate to buy a new Saab only to learn that they have "pulled out" of the USA market. The Saab 9-3 SE is way over priced compared to the competition. A little over priced I can deal with. Too much and I buy something else. Saab needs to give incentives to new buyers to buy, based on what is available elsewhere. I have received several emails to support this. People like Saab cars. They have purchased other makes do to new pricing, upkeep, and the lack of rebates and incentives. Though the retail prices have remained steady, there are no rebates or 5-8% incentives anymore. The dealers are stuck selling cars at retail.
