The service rep at the Saab dealer where I go for service (who I've known for 4 years now) told me last week that there were a LOT of problems with the 94-95 900 series. He said that the early convertibles in this series were a disaster. He also said things have progressed to the point where people are bringing later 900s for service at 30,000 miles and beyond with the only 'problem' being that they need new wiper blades. I had a '95 900 and had few problems with it. The dealer did a great job of keeping me current with recall fixes and took care of almost every problem under warranty (even a new battery). Perhaps I was lucky. I traded up to a 9-3 last August (and believe me it is most definitely a step UP), The 9-3 is one smooth, lovely piece of machinery. Go for the 9-3 ragtop. I think you'll really like it.
