Hi again Denis, Have you tried holding down the Clear key (below the SID) for about 8 seconds? You'll hear a second beep around that time, then you can release it. If the message comes back, you probably have a real problem. I'd check that the fuses for the airbag are intact and that their contacts are clean as a first step. This press and hold procedure also works to clear the "time for service" alarm when it appears. Good luck, Chris This message was sent by either: Chris Thurrott _or_ Kris D'Anci scully at ma dot ultranet dot com remove "nospam" from our e-mail address to send a reply ---------- In article <1998112613083076063nopsamet.co.uk>, Denis Naylor <denis.naylornopsamet.co.uk> wrote: >Hi on a 1996 900s does anyone know how to clear a spurious SRS airbag alarm? > >I know it's spurious because I caused it to come on <I assume> when I >dissconnected the battery for a short time in looking for another >electrical problem,on reconnection of the battery the SRS red light >came on and I cant get rid of it! > >Any help in clearing/resetting spurious alarms on the SID appreciated. > >I feel sure I dont have a genuine airbag fault and no local dealer to >check with, hmmmmmm. > >Regards Denis... >
