Mike, I bought my 87 9000S 5 spd last December with 145,890 miles on it...I have the previous owner replace the lower motor mounts, the valve cover gasket, the right rear caliper and pads, fix a power steering fluid leak and replace a support strut for the hood and hatch. In the past year I have replaced both mufflers, the A/C compressor, the crankshaft pulley/seal and the shifter coupler...I now have 160,899 miles on the car, and it runs beautifully...If you want a good and inexpensive source for parts, try Impex Distributors, 1-800-736-3550, www.zstarr.com/impex. The replacement Starla mufflers cost me 68.55 and 93.78, delivered for the rear and center respectively. The A/C compressor was about $310 including shipping to me and return of the core and the crankshaft pulley and seal were $143 delivered...Good luck...I plan on keeping mine.
