We recently helped our son buy a 1993 Saab 9000 CD. It HAD to be automatic. We prefer a stick shift, of course, but our son needed automatic, for various reasons. We wanted something large, safe (air bag absolutely!), and relatively sluggish. That it is. We took it to a private inspection station where the mechanic, a Saab fan himself, told us that the price asked by the dealer (in the States) was a fair one. We were nevertheless able to get the dealer to take about $1,500 less than original asking price. This is a very comfortable touring sedan, with too many luxury features for my taste (include headlight wipers). One doesnt' buy a car like this for "driving fun." This is a very comfortable touring sedan. It would make an excellent family car for long vacation driving. Visibility seems excellent. It doesn't get much better than this, IMHO.
