I've been running synthetic oil in my '82 900T 5-speed tranny since I bought it in '84 (the manuals in the early NG 900s in '94 warned against using synthetic in the tranny, but my '98 900T has a special Saab spec synthetic in from the factory). Just drain the old stuff and pour in the new. For the price of a couple quarts of oil (<$10?) you can tell for sure, clean off the magnetic drain plug, and be set for the next 60K miles! --------------------- John R.
