My SAAB 900T16 has 140K very hard miles on the clock. I think the previous owners abused this car since I had to replace timing chain and clutch in the last six months. However as you say a frequently serviced engine will probably last forever. BTW my car doesn't loose a drop between oil changes despite using a turbocharger. > The car looks great because it was well cared for, but > "needs" new wheel bearings, shocks, ball joints, bushings, some driveshaft > work, a shifter rebuild, a clutch cylinder, etc. I take care of this stuff > myself a little at a time, but to pay someone to fix all of it would cost > more than the car is worth. Have you also had to replace the front calipers? I think that people that brag about their car doing 200+ K miles without anything replacing must drive look poofs! and don't deserve to drive such high performance cars (It was my SAAB tech that said this to me first). > At this point, most people would sell the car, or drive it into the > ground. I went through 3 engines and 2 gearboxes in that time! It probably cost me more to run than the SAAB I own now. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
