Subject: How to replace valve gasket on 87 9000T

My 1987 9000T is leaking at the front passenger side of the valve cover. Are there any tricks to replacing the gasket. It looks as if the gasket is round or tubular, rather than flat. I also notice that there are a pair of rubber "half moons" between the block and the cover on the sides. It looks like they may be siliconed into place. Any need to use special sealers/gasket makers? Greatly appreciate any ideas and tips, and thanks in advance. Alan Dzija Philadelphia 87 9000T 5sp 145k owned since new 84 900S AT went to tranny heaven Return to Main Index
