Mine pinks a bit with normal unleaded, but runs fine on super or leaded. Re the pinking: only occurs on steep hill in 4th or fifth (I live in the Peak District, so there are steep hills a plenty). > After you rebuild an engine you will always get a running in period. I had the work done by Trent Saab in Nottm, and I've never been happier with the attention to detail and professionalism these guys showed. >I have done complete rebuilds (including pistons and bearings) on 2 engines (not SAAB, Rover). I think I beat that today. I put 15 quids worth in, took the girl for a spin around the Peak, and the fuel light came on after just 70 miles. Thing is, the car's running beautifully now, better than ever before - it's smooth, accelerates nicely, no judders or hops. As you say, the engine may need running in (only done about 600 since rebuild), so I'll keep an eye on it between now and the New Year and see if things improve. Thanks for the reply, and all the best for Christmas & the New Year. A happy winter driver is a saab driver, imo. Cheers bp Bryan Palmer www.screenfilter.com
