The Subaru Impreza has more power and 4-wheel drive yet only manages 6.5 secs. >Imagine what 25 more hp and > about 50+ more lbft of torque at just 2,100 rpm will do. True but if you read my post you would have noticed that I said that you can easilly achieve this power by getting the 185 horse motor chipped by abbott. It is a simple comparison of economics £600 against £3K for the sport and possibly £5K or more for SVO. Who seriously believes that it is worthwhile paying £2.5K for some bits of body kit? since in reality that is all the sport 9-3 is! > modified front end > to reduce torque steer. Lowered sport chassis. According to all the reviews I have read of the sport, lowering has ruined the ride quality I think I would sacrifice some cornering speed for a better ride. > Deeply contoured front sports > seats (finally). With front wheel drive, it'll never match the M3; however, > it'll provide similar performance, Which planet do you live on! I have driven an M3 and there is no way you are going to convince me that a 225hp 4-pot SAAB engine is going to give comparable performance to the M3's 321 bhp. Also consider the UK price of these cars. The 9-3 svo is likely to cost around £30K or more. The sport already costs an absurd £27K. M3 is about £38K and Audi S4 £36K. If you go for the Japanese imports you can get both the Impreza WRX (280hp) and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 5 (280hp) for less than £30K. Both of these cars with their WRC derived four wheel drive are likely to stomp on the SVO like Godzilla on a shack. > plus all the traditional Saab values -- > versatility, safety and and a little bit of individuality. Except that looking through the Parker shows that 900T16 carlson etc, was a similar price to the BMW 328 of that time. Nowadays someone looking for performance has a serious choice over some superb cars. -----------== Posted via Deja News, The Discussion Network ==---------- http://www.dejanews.com/ Search, Read, Discuss, or Start Your Own
