Last year, I was looking for a replacement for my 87 900S that was
totalled. My wrecked one had the manual belts. The one I looked at had
the automatic belts...The guy who was selling was a Saab mechanic at a
dealership in Nothern VA. He told me the ECUs were a problem on the
Saabs with the automatic belts. He offered to transplant the manual
belts from my old one to this one, if I bought it...Check your ECU. Make
sure the contacts are clean and in firmly....Use some silicone lubricant
spray on the belt mechanism. That may help keep it from jamming.
