Subject: Jumping Fuel Gauge

The fuel gage on my 88 9000S has recently started to wander up and down continuously. The car had a dead battery that I just replaced. I was told by my independent Saab Guy that the guages are very picky and need to have constant power. I installed the new battery, and the gauge showed the amount of fuel in the car. Today, the needle drops to the bottom then goes up, then down. It does this continuously. Also, the information cluster does not work. Is this possiblly a voltage regulator? Is it inside the alternator? Any help in diagnosing this problem would be greatly appreciated. Thanks & Happy Holidays, Adam Brodeur
