Subject: Re: Auto trans fluid/final drive fluid/Difference?

Ed, On a 1986 900T auto the auto transmission used ATF type F, and the final drive uses gear oil GL-4/GL-5. The final drive drain plug is further back towards the fire wallon the bottom of the engine, and the fill plug is on the driver's side of the engine, if you follow the exhaust pipe you will see it (it takes an Alen wrench). joe Edward wrote: > While attempting to change my engine oil(87 900S auto), I mistakenly opened > the auto transmission drain plug. What's the difference between these two, the > manual is kind of vague. Thanks for any info.
