in most modern cars, the voltage regulator is in the ( actually screwed on to ) the alternator. its a sperate pice that can be bought, though. I dont know were the alternatoer is on the 9000, but I'm guessing its on thepassenger side. it looks like it has holes in it to cool off the coiled wire. it runs off a belt/ yes they can both be tested . call the saab dealer, they can help/. talk to parts department, because they will help you buy the part you can replace/check. if you talk to service, they will lead you into the service bay. 8 ( Mark hope this helps aerodnopsamejanews.com wrote: > > 1994 9000 CS (nonturbo Manual) > > 1)The car died on my wife today. 2)The info. dash display was only reading > 7.5 volts when I got there. 3)Took a good load off my 900 when I jupered it > (engine RPM dropped). 4)Only went 4-5 miles and started running rough again. > Did a longer charge (by jumping) and drove it home(5-7 miles), ran fine. > 5)Had the battery tested at Track Auto and it tested good, but needs charge. > 6)The battery charge light stays on with the engine running. > > I don’t think the car is charging the battery.
