Subject: Re: 900 heater problem

Correct. It MUST be a SAAB part ONLY. Just replaced mine in my 900T. The part was $24. If you didn't replace it with a Saab part then that is most likely your problem. If you did use a Saab part then the only thing left is the valve and heater core (assuming your fluid is topped off) DON'T LET THE GUY AT THE PARTS STORE TELL YOU HIS THERMOSTAT IS THE SAME AS THE SAAB PART. IT IS NOT. In my old 900 I put in a NAPA part and guess what, NO HEAT. Went to Saab and got the real one and Presto Heat!!! BTW Saab makes 2 different temp thermostats. 82 degree and 89. I believe I have and 89 in my 900 and when I just changed the 900T I put in an 82. I would recommend the 82 especially for the Turbo. JC238nopsamv.net wrote in message <12900-36903430-39nopsamd-212.iap.bryant.webtv.net>... Jlambit Make sure you are using a genuine Saab thermostat. They are a special three stage design and an ordinary of the shelf part won`t work. (as you have found out) Regards, Jerry C.
