Hugh, Thanks for the TIP. I noticed that the temperature gauge was not on the normal position (Middle Range) when that happen. It actually was close to the blue mark. Now the gauge is the at "normal" position, and I disconect the battery, reseting the computer, the "Check Engine" went away. Soon after you indicate the possible source of the problem, I try to find the thermostat. Now I know for sure is not attached to non of the hoses in the radiator or the pump. I also tried the hose conected to the block. Do you where the thermostat is located ? It might be inside the elbow that connect the hose to the block ? thks, Elliot Hugh Williams wrote: > I had exactly the same. 4 blinks pointed to temperature sensor fault. > > Problem was thermostat stuck partly open not allowing engine to warm up. > This also resulted in unstable idle. > > Mine's a '94 9000CSE but the fault sounds the same. > > earroyonopsamsouth.net wrote in message <3699646E.B53AE604nopsamsouth.net>... > >I had a chack engine light turn on on a 95' 900 SET > > > >One (1) long blink followed by four (4) shorts. > > > > _ . . . . > > > >Anyone have an idea what that meant ? > > > >Also sometime while in idle, the car cycles RPM from 1,500 to 2000 > > > >
