Joe, I have an 87 9000S 5spd. Based on your description, it could be a worn clutch, or you may have a leak in the slave or master cylinder. There is also a hydraulic line that runs from the master cylinder to the clutch slave cylinder. You may need to replace something in that group, or you may just need to get it bled properly.
