Hello-I have a 97 Saab 900SE Turbo Coupe that has been giving us alot of problems.Since we have had the car{2 years} the alternator has had to be replaced 3 TIMES!!!!! This last time it died on us on our way home from a long road trip.I have 2 questions:How unusual is this and why would it happen so many times?and would it make a difference if the part it was replaced with was reconditioned? This car was a big purchase for us and we are starting to wonder if it is a lemon and what to do about it.We are completely disgusted with Saab's customer service{Canada}and we are close to going to our local paper with all the problems we've had.
