Johan, I think you misread the intention of this message. The S80's WHIPS system has been tested and was found to be vastly superior to anything ever tested before by IIHS. The S80 itself has not been crash tested by which I mean a test of the structural integrity of the entire car. For the WHIPS test, the IIHS developed a much more sophisticated dummy than has been used in crash testing in the past. However, I don't think IIHS has tested Saab's active head restraint system yet (nor do I think it will be found superior since it protects the neck and not the entire spine).
