With a 900i, I probably wouldn't worry so much, (though I confess I know little about the autobox), the classic 900 120k tranny change is due to a slightly underspecified pinion bearing, turbos tend to chew them in 120k or so, my 900i had 200k on the original box. (I don't know if this is applicable to autoboxes) The 9000 also seems to have a similar problem I've been told, but it seems to wear all the gearshaft end bearings (judging by the matching set of pitted ones I have at home) I doubt they're underspecified, they seem rather large... - Mark. redonald wrote in message <36a6537c.0nopsam1.vip.uk.com>... Have I got this right, my 88 900i auto 117000, full service history driving like a dream will soon be needing a new recon transmission?
