It is never more than a single flash. Any ideas? James, I think I may have found the problem. Check the throttle dampener. Apparently when these leak they allow too much air into the system hence the flashing check engine light - especially when changing gear. I'm replacing mine tomorrow - I'll let you know for sure... bp
